Wat Gate Museum, is actually more properly called, Wat Sakas Museum located in Chiang Mai is ta cute local museum which has a massed an eclectic collection of of Lanna historical artifacts and textiles and well honestly a lot of nick knacks people didn't know what to do with. But never the less it is well worth the visit.
It has a collection of historical photographs that really does show how the Chiang Mai culture was and how the place has grown over the last century. It is located on the grounds of "Wat Ket Karam" also know as "Wat Gate". The temple has been around about 582 years give or take.
The old Siamese "White Elephant" flag is often mentioned as the most interesting item but I think the photos are more revealing of our past culture. The museum itself shows our relaxed and well maybe short sighted view of the future.
