The Karen Hilltribes Trust

The Karen Hill Tribes Trust offers opportunities to volunteers: Volunteer Abroad for the Experience of a Lifetime! Experience another culture like never before, while making a real difference in other people’s lives. You’ll gain perspectives and insights into the local Karen culture and yourself. It’s an exciting and personally inspiring experience, and you’ll develop memories that will be with you forever.

it is a charity dedicated to working with the Karen people of Northern Thailand to help themselves to build a better future.

The three key aims are:

  • Improve health, by installing clean water systems and latrines.

  • Improve education by providing transportation to school, dormitories and teaching.

  • Improving opportunities for generating income by building irrigation systems and regenerating land.

As part of their work we provide gap year opportunities in Thailand teaching English, or installing clean water systems.

See The Karen Hilltribe Trust website for projects you can help with.
