. Bicycle, Parts & Accessories Over the past few years the number of bike shops selling realiable bicycles has increased greatly in Chiang Mai. Now you can find several brands of bikes and frames available in stock. It has been the Thai rides who have driven the demand for bikes with them no longer seen as for poor people who can not afford a motorbike to being sport toys for teh rich and more affluent Thai people. There is even the Chiang Mai Velodrome which was built in 1995 for the SEA games at the 700 year stadium, it has been renovated and reopened for the public. It is a 333 meter normal shaped track. As well as weekly Sunday bike rides by the local Bike club as a social and not hard ride.
