'Losing the Plot' is the moving story of Chuck Woww who was born in a VW van at Woodstock. After joining the CIA and getting posted to Bangkok, Chuck finds himself drawn into the Bangkok nightlife. He descends, without much resistance, into the heart of darkness and loses his job. Writing about it seems to offer hope of redemption but he can't come up with a cohesive plot. Hence the title. He does get a novel written and published eventually and goes on to achieve modest success as a Hollywood screenwriter.
The author weaves a rich tapestry. Along the way you'll meet Danny, a young Englishman on holiday, Duan, a poor hilltribe girl making a new life in Los Angeles and Arthur, an aging expat who runs a very quiet bookshop in rural Thailand, There is Nok, a reincarnated temple dancer from Angkor Wat, Bert a Vietnam vet who looks for love in the wrong places, a group of soi dogs, some elephants and a performing frog.
