There are many computer shops and malls in Chiang mai
Here is a partial list if you wish to recommend any shops just email me.
To find start with the biggest ones:
They are located at the north west corner of the moat and head east on Maninopparat road. You have one smaller complex at the corner almost. Then another two malls beside each other about 300 meters on one called Icon square ( in the old Tantrapan Changpuerk building) and the other is nick named Computer Plaza. They are both with small booths and lots of bootleg programs and equipment. Behind they fix old computer stuff.

Then the next is turn left on to Chotana road and get to super highway and turn left again and is a large building on the left.
The other mall is Planthip Plaza, is on Chang Klan road and Suriwonge Rd at the edge of night bazaar. There you will find odds and ends and a number of bootleg shops like in Bangkok's Planthip Plaza.http://www.mapjack.com/?TZXyU3egacqF
If you can not find something there ask the lady in the rear end of Computer Plaza on the right just just to the right of the stairs and kind of behind she order just about anything you want at a good price.
