Karen Padaungs Elongated Ears

The Karen Padaung practice an ancient custom called 'loaded ears' in which the earlobes are elongated by large, heavy rings. Originally practiced by both the men and women (but now only the women), traditions like these are evidence of cultural exchange between the northern hill tribes.
