Pung Tao Gong Ancestral Temple is Chiang Mai's oldest Chinese temple. The original main Building is believed to be built in 1876, however due to it being beyond repair. In the honour of the 700th anniversary of Chiang Mai as a city in 1998, it was decided by members of the Chinese community to be rebuilt It During that time enough money was raise to expand it and as well the Chinese community council decided to take two shop houses out from in front of it. Thus allowing a better Chi flow and a view of the river.
The temple is actual right across the road from The Ping River, at the flower market and near the stamp museum.
It is a totally different look than normal Buddhist temples in Chiang Mai so well worth a wander if your in the flower market.
