CAR RENTALS Just Some of Hundreds

Self drive cars in Thailand makes a lot of sense. It is the best way to see the country and its people. Use a good rental company who's cars are well maintained and insured by a reputable company. Driving is easy and the roads are really reasonable good.

Some rental companies like Budget even have great booklets on different routes and things to see, my only complaint is all the names are in English only, so asking directions if you loss ( not a problem just adds to the fun) your way may be a little harder than just point at the name in the book in Thai, as pronouncing Thai names is good for a laugh from the locals. Don't be offended they like a good laugh and if you knew what you had said you too would laugh.I recommend you get the booklets for northern Thailand from Budget rent a car they are the best there is to my knowledge.

There is even a special police department to help tourists it is called the tourist police the telephone number is easy 1699 most speak English somewhat and all are helpful. There really is no reason to fear driving in Thailand as a tourist if you take care and drive defensively.
