The Flower Festival is not really a historical relevant festival but is certainly is a loved and enjoyed annual event in Chiang Mai. The age of spectators are from very young to very elderly all enjoying the festival.

 


 

It is held on the first complete Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the second month of the year. It is a place where the locals and tourist a like get share in an old fashion parade where you are not heavily policed and corded off by security and westerners are amazed that the easy going atmosphere

 


 

It has a many beautiful floats all covered with flowers live, dried or cut as well as seeds glued as a pattern on some floats. The main parade will be Saturday morning and will be  blocking car traffic from the bridge on Taphae road to the Suan Bok Heart park where there will be many plant displays and plants to purchase. Of course lots of food and drinks to try.    

 

 

 

There are many temples and schools and outlining villages represented by floats and bands and dancers all partaking in the fun if the Chiang Mai flower festival.

 

 

The floats are true works of art with themes that are close to all Thai peoples hearts. After the parade is finished they park up so people can have thier photos taken and get a real close look at the floats.
