There are many faith based projects in Thailand, and no matter what your beliefs are, many offer a way to help others.  Giving true assistance with nothing but the best attentions to help, unforgivably there will always be missionaries who are here for an easy life, like they could not have back home. Just remember most work hard to help. I do not wish to comment on which are better than others. I just listing them all for general info.

 New Life Foundation:
American Baptist missionaries prepare Hill tribe women, for legitimate occupations by offering educational opportunities to those who had little or no previous formal schooling. The first residence of the New Life Center was opened on May 5, 1987, providing shelter to 18 women. Today, about 120 girls and young women (ranging in age from 13 to 24) are sheltered in the houses of the Center, which are located in the cities of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai in northern Thailand.

Displaced Orphans International (DOI) was formed by a handful of caring friends who had a heart to help orphaned children in Thailand. Greg Wineman, one of the original founders had traveled to Thailand to meet a friend of a friend but instead found himself be-friending 52 hill tribe orphan children. This trip was the first of many and these children the first of now over 550 orphan children reached by the efforts of DOI. Displaced Orphans International is an independent non-profit organization that is passionate about changing the lives and futures of the orphaned children around the world.

Imjai House,  helps children age between 6-20, whose parents had died from AIDS by showing them how to receive the love of God and by providing an education so they can develop their skills to earn for living and allows them to become self-supporting. Be able to be part of a family and given a quality life so they will become members of society and contribute their capability back to their society.
At the present, most of the children are teenagers, time for discovering themselves which they required a role model to follow.
